Up close at one month!

Here are some up close pictures of Maya. She was one month on the third. The second picture is of her today!! She is growing and now has a double chin! I think this is the only time in your life when you are excited that you have a double chin. She is really getting long and holding her head pretty well. She also has started smiling at Josiah and I. She doesn't realize she is smiling but it is fun to see. We are getting in a routine and she is a really good sleeper, that is when we get her to sleep!! Rechel the first and third pictures are of her in your cute onze you sent her but you can't really see her onze. It is cute thank you!!!
We are excited about our trip home and can't wait to see you all.

Maya 3 Weeks Old

You can't really see Maya in this picture but I love the smile on Josiah's face! Proud Papa!! So the last two pictures are of Maya a couple of days ago. The first two are from a couple of weeks ago. I thought they were cute! Maya is doing really well. She is growing and we think she is almost 11lbs. She recently has been having some pooping issues and Josiah and I never thought we would be so excited when someone poops but we are thrilled when she does. She is a good sleeper and doesn't keep me up to much. We are coming home for Christmas from the 18th-28th and we are flying. This will be her first flight and I am nervous and excited! We are flying Delta so I am sure it will be a good flight. I have been video taping Maya more then pictures so I need to get better at that so I have more to share with you all. I love being a Mom it is the best job I have ever had!!! Hope all of you readers are well and good!! Hope to see most of you at Christmas. If you are interested in our itinerary please email me and I will give it to you. We are going to stay put and try not to travel around to much because of the babe but we would love it any of you would like to come to my Mom's to visit or to Josiah's Dad's!!

Personality

Here are some pictures showing some of Maya at her cutest moments on film over the last week or so.

This one is titled, "No more pictures please!"

These two pictures show her awake and looking around. She has a tendency to wiggle sideways and watch people walk around, as she is doing in the second picture.

Thanks for the bath robe Ayla. This picture was taken after her first bath.

This is Josiah's idea of dressing Maya. I call this one, "Maya & Animal Friends"

Thanks for reading.

Mike & Mary

Mike & Mary visited us over Thanksgiving. We had an enjoyable time and Maya went through a growth spurt. She still enjoys grunting, squirming, and making some of the most bizarre faces you can imagine.

Friends & Family

Week 3 had several family & friend visits and Maya began showing some more personality. Already we can tell she has grown. Her cheeks and legs are getting a bit chubbier and she is starting to look at moving objects that are at a distance.

We know she is Monica's because she already shows signs of being addicted to the television.

Jon & Tulsi (6 months old)

Elias & Tara

Uncle Elias is already preparing lessons on real estate investing for Maya and is busy making her a full suit of baby chain mail armor for christmas. We can't wait to see her in it!

13 days old!
Granpa and Grandma Hart dropped by and helped us through the week. We took full advantage and made Grandpa do a lot of dishes, and other house work! Grandma threatened to steal Maya several times, but in the end we all agreed that when we come home for Christmas Josiah won't even try to have baby time and will instead watch from afar as Grandma plays with Maya the whole time.

Everyone is healthy, growing and learning to adjust to the new schedule. Be Well!

Maya Three Days Old

Here she is three days old and loving the world. She has been having some fits at night that has launched us right into parent hood, exhaustion and all. We are hoping the fits stop soon and other parents have assured me they will soon. I do feel bad for the people who live below us because this girl has some lungs!!! Josiah and I are both completely in love with her and every little movement and look she gives us we can't wait to share with the other person! She has just started becoming aware of her surroundings and will move her head looking for Josiah when she hears his voice. It is an amazing thing!

Still no baby

Well we still don't have a baby in the outside world yet but I do have some new photos to share with you. Josiah is very sick in these photos and I was starting to get sick so we don't look the greatest but Maureen came over and took them and I just love them!! I hope you enjoy and we will keep you all posted. Keep Josiah in your prayers that he makes a quick recovery so he is healthy when the wee one decides to join us. Love you all!! Blogger isn't letting me post pics for some reason, I will post them when it allows me to. Also went to the Dr. today, baby has descended more and we are getting closer. I hope we have the baby this weekend because my midwife is on call. Everyone send all your energy to the baby this weekend so he/she decides to come into the world.

My Blessing Way

I spoke about my Blessing Way in the post under this one but I wanted to post some pictures. My friend Maureen took these and I hate to say that I don't have a picture with her and myself. The first picture is with Maureen's adorable daughter Tulsi. She is 7 months and I have been blessed to be a part of her life! She is one of the most beautiful, intelligent babies I have ever meet!! The second and third picture are from the actual event. As you can tell in the second photo I cried a lot that day so my nose is all red!! It was a great day. Thank you again to Maureen for organizing it and letting us use your apartment, I love you!!!

OH BOY Week 39!!

We are now at week 39!! The first picture is from week 39 the second picture is from week 38. The baby has dropped even more. The third picture is from my Blessing Way that my friend Maureen threw for me. The flowers with the candles is from a long time resident here named Silvia who had to move out of the country before the blessing way but wanted us to feel her spirit. I think they are beautiful and they now are in my house. A Blessing Way celebration for anyone that does not know is a gathering of women that are gathering to support the expecting mother and process of birth and giving a new life. It also honors women in general and how fabulous we are as women. It was started by the native Americans and if you ever have a chance to attend one or someone wants to throw you one take them up on it. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The women that came were all warm and loving and really inspiring. Their strength will go with me through the birth and the raising of my child.
I had my check up with the Dr. that now happens every week. This week my blood pressure came back a little high, but I am fortunate to have a wonderful Dr. and friend that lives on campus here who will help monitor my blood pressure and keep an eye on things. We would like to prevent induction so we will do everything in our power to get the blood pressure down. I have faith that my body will take care of it's self with a little bit of help and relaxation. I can tell you that Josiah and I are so excited and we can't believe we could be parents any day now!! We are taking a call list with us to the hospital so you should all here from us when it happens. I hope we don't forget anyone!!

Week 37, Three more to go!!

Week 37 is here!!! My baby is now considered full term and I could go into labor any day now. I won't because it is my first baby but if I did the baby would be fine!
Josiah and I went to the Dr. Today. The fun begins as now I have to go every week until I go into labor. She checked my cervix and I am not dilated but she did feel the baby's head!! I thought that was the coolest thing in the world.
I am starting to feel the baby dropping and if it is possible getting a little more uncomfortable. Sleeping is ruff so I find myself extremely tired through out the day.
Maureen showed me how to create videos using this program on my computer so I put one together of all my pregnancy pictures and most of you should have received that in an email format. I will have tons of fun with the program once the baby arrives!
The pictures above were taken by my friend Maureen on the property of the Himalayan Instititue were we live. The second one is on a hill we call it the Sound of Music Hill, that one is for my Dad as he loves that hill. Maureen and I took over 80 pictures yesterday and I would recommend to all expecting mom's to take some fun pics when you get nice and big! They are going to make a wonderful keepsake. Thank you to Maureen for taking time and pushing me to do it, I really love them!
Hope you are all well and I will keep everyone posted!
