Christmas with Grandpa Groth

What a week we have had at our house! Last week started by getting ready for our first trip with Lindsey to Madison. We made it there with bells on, Lindsey was great in the car. Maya had a hard time she was not feeling well. We made it to Uncle Elias's house and moved in. We then went to Grandpa Groths and had a good time celebrating Christmas and just hanging out. We ended our trip by going to Chelsea and Jeff our friends wedding reception. Everyone was beautiful, they had good food and we got to see friends we had not seen for a long time. The girls were angels and I could not have asked for better behaved children. We then drove home from the reception and made it home around midnight. We had noticed that Lindsey's eye was really runny and kind of swollen. When we got up in the morning it was swollen shut, so off to urgent care we all went, still in our dress clothes! We found out that it was a simple eye infection she could have gotten any where and we got some medicine for it and she is all healed up. We also gave her some homeopathic remedies which cut how long we had to give her the antibiotic in half! Thank God for natural remedies and my husband who knows all about them! It just so happened that when we left my Grandfather really started to go down hill. My parents ended up calling the ambulance and had him hospitalized. It has been decided by the Dr. that it would take a whole lot of care that my parents and us can not give my Grandfather so he is to go in a nursing home. I can only imagine that this is the hardest decision that my parents and my mom's sisters and brother will every have to make. Not having my grandfather in our house changes the dynamics and the mood of the house. I will miss how my grandfather could get my daughter to laugh by looking at her and Maya telling Great Grandpa that it is time to eat. I am thankful that we will be able to visit him in the nursing home but I am sad that our house will forever be changed.

Surprise!!!!

I have posted a lot of pictures again and video, sorry for all the video and pics in one post but that is all I seem to have time for. We have had a fun week or two, we threw my mother a surprise 60th birthday party and on top of the party we planned Lindsey's baptism! My Mom's party went great, and we kept it a surprise. We told her that us kids had a surprise for both her and Dad and that they both had 30 min to get ready. My Dad played like he had no idea what we were talking about and we got them ready! We then told my Mom that we were going to blind fold both her and Dad but we had to split them up in different cars so they couldn't talk! We blind folded my Mom and then of course didn't need to blind fold my Dad. We mad it all the way to the VFW took off her blind fold and yelled SURPRISE!! It was great and worth all the trouble of trying to keep it a secret.
Lindsey's baptism went really good, my brother is her Godfather and Maureen my sister from a different mother couldn't make it but she is the Godmother. So I posted tons of pictures from the baptism so Maureen can see how it went and how cute Lindsey was in her gown! Maureen we missed you and can't wait to see you and give Tulsi and Annalee lots of kisses!!!!
Maya is now 3' 2" and still growing, her two year old molars are now coming in and she is officially potty trained. To top that off she now has a cold, so as you can imagine Josiah and I have not gotten much sleep! We are so proud of her and her ability to handle change. She basically potty trained herself and is doing so well with it. She will come to one of us and say I have to go pee, we run to the bathroom and she goes. She and her sister have bonded and Maya always asks us if she can sleep with Lindsey. I have a feeling that when they get a bit older they will be bed sharing! I shared a bed with my sister for a long time so I am all for it!
Lindsey is also growing, she is now in 6-9 month clothes. She just turned 3 months on the 1st. She is starting to roll for her back to her belly. She also is trying to sit up so we are working on that!
We are looking forward to some time in Madison to spend with Josiah's father and brother and we will be attending our friend Chelsea and Jeff's wedding reception. Then on to the Holiday season, we wish you all a merry Christmas!!!

We got this bath seat as an early Christmas present. Lindsey loves it and so does Maya because she gets to take baths with her sister.

I took both these pictures without realizing I had taken them. The first picture is Maya at 5 months old and the second picture is of Lindsey at 2 months old. Can you tell who their daddy is?
This is for our dear friend Blair, Elias came to visit and he brought with him our favorite donuts on the planet. This is Maya's first taste of a Greenbush donut. Our friend Bliar LOVES these donuts and so do we!

My Aunts put on an old lady skit for my Mom. Here are a couple of clips.
