Well we had an eventful fourth of July! We were so excited because the studio was closed , Mom and Dad were going to Marys and we had the house to ourselves! We had planned on hanging out with girls making some Great food and going to watch fireworks at a friends. That all was cut very short. I had been having pains on my left side for about two days. On Friday night they got a lot less sever and I thought good we can still have a nice fourth. When I woke up on Saturday the pains were so bad I could hardly make it up the stairs. I didn't even let Josiah get the girls dressed and I said we need to go to the DR now. We arrived at the ER and the pain felt like labor pains I could not wait to get pain medication! They ran some test and the ER Doc comes in and says well you are pregnant. I felt like I was in a movie or a prank because there was no way we could be pregnant. I looked right at him and said, how did that happen. He looks at me and says do I need to explain it to you? He was a really great Dr he put me at ease. So we had no idea we were pregnant because I was still nursing Lindsey and thought nothing of not having my period. The minute he told me I was pregnant I new something was wrong. They did more exams, ultrasounds, blood work and found that I had an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic means "out of place." In an ectopic pregnancy, a fertilized egg has implanted outside the uterus. The egg settles in the fallopian tubes in more than 95% of ectopic pregnancies. This is why ectopic pregnancies are commonly called "tubal pregnancies." The egg can also implant in the ovary, abdomen, or the cervix, so you may see these referred to as cervical or abdominal pregnancies. In my case the egg was fertilized right below my ovary in my left fallopian tube. It had burst and was bleeding into my body. They told me I needed surgery and it would happen in less then one hour. I was thankful that I new what it the pain was but a little sad that I would not be able to bring this little soul into our world. I was also scared to death of the surgery because it was something I could not control. My surgeon also had to tell me that she may need to remove both tubes or maybe both ovary depending on what the situation looked like. So I put my faith in the surgeons and God and new I would be fine. Three hours later I came out with both ovary's and fallopian tubes in my body!! You never know what life is going to throw us and when it throws us a curve ball I am thankful to have my family and my husband. My parents both took off work for my recovery and Josiah cancelled class and moved appointments to help. I could not be doing as well as I am without them. So thank you to the people who love me and love my children. An update on my beautiful girls, Lindsey in now walking. She can take 10 to 15 steps and then she lowers herself to the ground. She is not going to walk she is going to run. I can't believe how fast she is walking already. She is my daredevil, she will be the one who wants to bungee jump, sky dive, scuba dive! She is like me which makes me love her so much more because I can't wait to do those things with her! She loves to climb and now 10 months old she is climbing to the top of our swing set to slide down by herself. She climbs on furniture, people, pets anything that will put up with her! She is also starting to try and talk, we are working with signs with her but she is not picking them up as fast as Maya. Maya is our analytical girl and Lindsey is our tactile motor skills girl. Amazing to me how different they can be. I think they will be great partners in the future and great fighters. Maya is growing like a weed, she still loves painting, coloring, reading, swinging, swimming. Her vocabulary is just like a 10 year old. She has formed an amazing bond with Grandma and Grandpa and now demands that my mom puts her to bed at night.
I hope every ones summer is going great and before we know it it will be over so I am trying to enjoy it. Thank you for every ones thoughts and prayers.
