Merry Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas to everyone!! It is Christmas night and the baby is in bed and I thought what a great night to catch up on blogging. It has been a crazy week around our house as I am sure it has been around yours. It has been a holiday full of laughter and love and it is so nice to be back home. It has been nice seeing all of my Aunts and Uncles along with brothers, sisters, cousins and friends. We have one more Christmas to celebrate with Dave in Madison and then on to New Years with the Wolfenberg family in Madison. I have tried to capture our pre-holiday events on tape. I like to post video on you tube and then turn them into blogs from there, so you will have to scroll down. There should be four videos to watch. I hope you enjoy and we love you all!!

Maya's First Birthday

My little girl is not so little anymore and has had her first birthday. It was a great day full of family, laughs and love. It was a time to reflect for Josiah and myself. Now that we are living away from the place we gave birth to Maya the reflection made me grateful to all the people that helped me through the pregnancy and birth. I want to thank those people with this blog.

Maureen and Jon our best friends in the whole world. What would we have done without you? They cleaned my house, cut a trip short to come to the hospital and cooked meals for us for the first month. You both made our transition from single life to parenthood so much easier and smoother. Maureen and I where also blessed to be pregnant together, she is my motherly role model. She has a beautiful daughter named Tulsi that I was blessed to raise my daughter with her for the first ten months of Maya's life. Tulsi and Maya are sisters in spirit and they have a connection that I feel will thrive through out their lives.

Carrie was the one that came to our house at ten o'clock at night when I was in labor and supported Josiah and I. She then came to the hospital with us and stayed with us for the full duration of my labor (52 hours). Her spirit and energy helped me through the tough spots and got me through the labor naturally. I don't know what we would have done without her. She is an amazing mother, Doctor and friend. Josiah and I hope that we can be as great of parents to our children as she and her husband are to there two beautiful boys.

My mother because without her I would not be here. To know that she went through the same pain I went through to have Maya and now knowing you don't even think of the pain, all you feel is the love. My mother got me through my pregnancy, all the questions, worries and late night calls. Me having a child changed my mother and my relationship. It moved it to the next phase in life. She has now become the Grandma and I am the mother, and what a lucky girl Maya is to have such a good Grandma. She is such an amazing Mom she is going to blow Grandma hood out of the water. I am grateful to her and my father for all of their support through out my life. I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to live with them now and that they get to know my husband and daughter. Having them in my daughters life is priceless.

I thank everyone that is in my life and is a part of my daughters life. You are all so precious to us. Josiah and I have been blessed in each place that we have lived to be surrounded by people who love us. My little girl is one year old and it has been the best year of my life!

Playing in the Park

I can't believe I never posted this. It was a couple of months ago Josiah, Maya and I went to a park and saw tons of ducks and geese. Here are some pictures!

Warm weather

We have been having wonderful weather in WI however, we have all been sick with a weird cold/flu and have not been able to enjoy it. I have so many pictures to share with you all so scroll down and see them all!! Maya turns One on the third, I can't believe I am going to have a one year old!!

This is grandpa and Daddy with Maya going on a community care walk for our local food pantry. It was a hard walk for everyone as it was 84 degrees out walking up hill against the wind. It was a three mile walk and I think they did great!! I was supposed to go but was sick.

After the walk I think Grandpa and Maya are HOT.
Maya playing in the leaves before the walk
Maya making a huge cheerio mess with daddy. She can get into cupboards and she grabbed the cereal box and wow they went everywhere. I love Josiah because something I would have been mad about he makes it fun and let her play in it!! They had fun!

Grandpa reading to Maya. If you can see it is not a book but a magazine. It is her favorite thing to look at!!
This is the first time I put Maya's hair up!! She didn't seem to mind it but now she thinks it is fun to pull the pony out of her hair! Her bangs are so long they are in her eyes and I do not want to cut them.
Maya loves to help us clean. Here she is sweeping a plastic bag.

The last week

Here are some pictures of Maya in the last week or so. She has been busy playing with Daddy as our roles have changed the last two weeks. Seat For Your Soul has been so busy that Josiah has had to have Maya full time and I have been working. It has been really great for them but I miss being with her so we will see what we can do to split the time. Maya is now 11 months old. How the time flies. I hope you enjoy the pics.

This is Maya's favorite thing to do, she wants to look at pictures all the time on the computer. She is signing girl in this photo because Momma is a girl and that is who is in the photo.
Maya is playing with Daddy and Grandpa outside. Great Grandpa had just mowed the lawn and Josiah could not resist putting Maya in it. She was full of grass when she came in, even in her diaper.
Grandpa Hart and Maya trying to get Maya to sit still for the photo
Yummy Grass

Maya making her get away from all the picture taking!
Maya in the bathtub! She still loves water.

Maya feeding Zoe

Here is a video of Maya feeding my sisters dog Zoe. She loved feeding her and I think Zoe gained 10 lbs from all the food Maya was feeding her. It is nice that other people have pets so we can enjoy them but do not have to take care of them. Maya is doing great, she is walking completely by herself. Crawling is totally done for her as she learned how to get up to standing without using a wall or furniture. She also is talking a lot. She says more, Tulsi, Maxx, pickle, cracker, banana, grandpa, grandma, uncle, mama, dada, kitty. Of course these words are not 100% but you can know what she is saying. She is also signing like a mad women. She just started putting two signs together. So she will sign "more milk" or "more book". We are amazed how much teaching her how to sign has helped with her frustration level and ours. She loves to sign her favorite sign right now is elephant and monkey! I hope that catches everyone up, it has been a while because Seat For Your Soul has been crazy busy and I haven't had time to blog! That is a good thing! Love you all.

We have arrived

Well we are now in Colby and getting settled. Maya is busy growing and chasing the Kitty. She loves all the people that are around all the time and is slowly creating bonds with Grandma's and Grandpa's. We are excited to be close to family again and know that this move came at the right time. I will write more later but wanted to put up something so you all know we are still alive!

My Parents church had a out door clown service with a picnic after. Maya wasn't sure about the Clown but she loved the people. When we went to church the next week she kept pointing to the field were the picnic was wanting to go there.
We are back in Wisconsin and it took no time to get our little girl decked out in GB packer outfit. This cheerleader outfit was given to her by her Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike!!! It looks so cute and we LOVE the Packers!!

It is hard to get a picture of just Maya standing on her own because she is now running all over the house and will not stand still. In this picture she is chasing my sisters dog Zoe. She loves that dog.
