Lindsey 11 Months old, Maya 2.5 years old

What a busy but fun summer! We have had people at our house for the last 14 days straight! It has been a lot of fun and we have had some really great visits. The month started out by going to Madison. In Madison we visited with our friends the Cassidy family. Jon and Maureen become our instant friends when we moved to PA. Maureen is Lindsey's Godmother and the closest friend I have. We had not seen each other for two years, but we speak on the phone almost daily. This was the first time meeting our new babies, Lindsey and her baby Annalee. We celebrated Annalee’s first birthday with a delightful party. It was so much fun to see the girls play together. Maya and Tulsi played together like they had never been separated. They played so nice together we could not have asked for better girls. We also got to visit for a short time with Grandpa Groth, Elias, and Ayla. We finally got to see all the yard work that Grandpa Groth is doing. Oh my goodness it is beautiful!!!!! We spent the night at Mary and Mikes house. We had a lot of fun swimming and talking.
We then returned to Colby and with us was a little cold virus or flu. We are still getting over it so I am not sure what it is but it has been nasty. In the mean time my Grandfather took a turn for the worst. We thought he may be on his death bed. My Aunts came to visit and to spend time with him. I love when my Aunts come to visit and so do my girls!! My Grandpa then took a turn for the better; they think a change in medication helped! The girls, myself and my Dad all got to go to a picnic that the nursing home puts on each year! Grandpa had a really good day and we had great conversation. My Grandpa is suffering from Alzheimer’s so when talking to him you do have to sometimes guess were he is from his life. I really like this because sometimes he will bring up the past and I get to learn a little bit more about my Grandpa. For example I said to him "you usually eat earlier then this right?" He said “oh no it really depends on how much mail I have!" Then I said "Oh didn't you stop by our house almost everyday to have lunch?" He said, “Where did you live?" I said "on second street" he said, "they didn't have mailboxes out there, you had to come to the post office to get your mail. But I was smart; I would put my mail in the car with me so we didn't have to run back into town to get the mail!" And then he laughed and winked at me. It may not have all made sense but I could follow him and he was so happy. His mind takes him back to his happy days and I am so thankful that it takes him there so he can be happy in his final days.
Well after all this our friend Brian came to visit. I feel bad because both kids were in the wicked part of their sickness. Lindsey would not let me put her down and was basically screaming from morning to night. Brian at one time asked me if it was always like this. I reassured him that this is not normal but let’s just say that I don't think Brian will be having kids anytime soon. To top off his visit he went home sick and felt as if he was going to die for two days. Sorry Brian!! When we did get to talk it was great. Brian is like a brother to me and every time I see him it makes me miss him more. Sarah his other half couldn't come with this visit. We missed her dearly and hope she can come next time!!
Then the Cassidy's came to our house for three days!! It rained most of the days but we still had a great time. I will post pictures of that visit later!
It has been a busy and fun month, it is nice to see everyone but it will also be nice to have it calm down a little next month. Lindsey turns a year on the 1st of September. I can hardly believe it!!

Here we are at the Zoo our favorite place. Lindsey would stick her fingers in the cage and the bunnies would lick her fingers. She loved it.

All the train pictures are from the picnic with Great Grandpa. First I didn't know if Lindsey could handle a car on her own so I made her ride with Maya. In later pictures you will see that Lindsey road all by herself. I was proud of Maya because she doesn't like riding on anything. She asked to go on the train and didn't want to get off. I think she road it four times. Great Grandpa and Grandpa got to watch and she was really proud of herself.

We dog sat Zoe my sisters dog. Maya thought she was so big taking care of the dog. She likes to walk Zoe so she got a lot of exercise! Here we were walking to the park and Zoe was getting tired so we put her in the stroller with the girls.

Maya pushing Lindsey on the big girls swing. So long baby swing!
Maya and Lindsey visiting with great Grandpa

Great picture I wish Lindsey would have been in it. This one is going in her two year old book.
Maya pulling Lindsey in the wagon. You can see on Maya's face she doesn't want me taking her picture. Sometimes I feel like the paparazzi, she screams no momma I don't want you to take my picture.
Visiting with Aunt Ayla and her five new Kittys. Maya did great with them she would hold them and carry them around. Lindsey we had to make sure she didn't sit on them or step on them.

Maya went to Vacation Bible School this month. It was her first time leaving me and being on her own. She went from Monday to Thursday from 9 to 12. She did so well no crying and I am so proud of her. While she was in Bible School I looked after my friends baby Roland. Roland and Lindsey are a month a part in age. They did really great together and it was fun to watch them toddle around together.
Maya is now making friends at the parks we go to. She loves meeting new people as long as I am not to far away!

Maya posing for the camera. This doesn't happen to often but when it does I am thankful I have my phone or camera with to take pics.
